Kenneth J. Heinrich, MD Medical Director  ECI Advisory Group

The ECI Advisory Group offers Emergency Departments across the country access to some of the most successful and innovative individuals in Emergency Medicine today. Emergency Consultants, Inc. has now enlisted Kenneth J. Heinrich, MD, to lead this dynamic group. As Medical Director, Dr. Heinrich will oversee the ECI Advisory Group’s goal to create Emergency Department management action plans that are tailored to suit the needs of individual hospitals.

Prior to 2009, ECI provided advisory consultations as needed. Now that the group has been formalized, Heinrich has plans to expand its reach. “In 2010, the ECI Advisory Group will increase its number of visits in order to both enhance ECI-affiliated facilities and work with other hospitals and physician groups,” he says. “We will also utilize an online Medical Director blog, which will include tips for process improvement in the ED and facilitate communication and guidance amongst all the directors.” Dr. Heinrich also looks forward to utilizing simulation software that will enable the ECI Advisory Group to test initiatives and judge their impact before beginning their implementation in the ED.

“Every ED has some shared experiences and some that are unique in terms of its own needs,” says Dr. Heinrich. “My goal for the ECI Advisory Group is to use these common experiences to benefit the Emergency Departments we serve, while recognizing the challenges specific to each department and helping to identify potential solutions for these.

Dr. Heinrich earned his Medical Degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago. He completed an Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. Dr. Heinrich has worked as an Emergency Department Medical Director with ECI and has partnered with ELITE Emergency Physicians, LLP, since January of 2009, providing emergency medical care within several facilities throughout the Midwest.
