Karol Vanderhoff Executive Director of ECI PSO, LLC

Emergency Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is pleased to announce that Ms. Karol Vanderhoff has been named Executive Director of the ECI Patient Safety Organization, LLC. In July of 2009, ECI became the first organization of its kind to earn the federal designation as a Patient Safety Organization (PSO). As Executive Director of ECI PSO, LLC, Ms. Vanderhoff will promote the PSO’s goal of optimizing patient outcomes through peer review, quality and risk management, and education, providing clinical data feedback that is fully protected under federal privilege and confidentiality laws.

“My role is to facilitate the work done by our quality advisory board and affiliated physician partners to identify and reduce the risks associated with patient care,” said Vanderhoff. “The scope and spectrum of this program is very exciting, and I look forward to helping the organization have a tangible, positive effect on the patients we serve.” 

“We have seen how successful the program can be on a local level in our Richmond, Virginia, market over the last two years,” said Vanderhoff.  “We are well-positioned to take advantage of recent legislation allowing this work to be shared across partnerships around the county while protecting our providers.  We are currently developing the program in our greater St. Louis, Missouri, market with a targeted launch this spring.”

Ms. Vanderhoff joined ECI in 1998 and most recently served as Vice President of Quality and Communications.
