Port City Emergency Physicians, LLP, appoints Medical Director at Oswego Urgent Care Center

Emergency Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Koehler, MD, FACEP, as the Medical Director for Port City Emergency Physicians, LLP, in Fulton, New York. As Medical Director, Dr. Koehler oversees operations within the Oswego Health Urgent Care Center, a 7-bed urgent care facility that is part of the Oswego Health System.
“I like the concept of helping to build a medical service from the ground up,” says Dr. Koehler, who now leads Oswego Health’s newest medical service. “It is fun for me to develop a program and work to make it successful.”
Dr. Koehler is board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics, as well as the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.
Dr. Koehler achieved his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Universidad Nacional Autonima de Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico. He completed his internship and residency program at Long Island University.
After providing emergency care for nearly a decade, Dr. Koehler decided to transfer this expertise into urgent care practice, which he has found to be a perfect fit for his skills.
Dr. Koehler joined Port City Emergency Physicians, LLP, in May 2009.
“Dr. Koehler’s extensive administrative experience has made him well-qualified for this Medical Director role,” says Michael F. Boyle, MD, FACEP, Regional Director for ECI. “Dr. Koehler’s skills and expertise will further enhance patient satisfaction at Oswego Health Urgent Care Center.”
